Scottsdale, AZ - The Arizona Dressage Association is pleased to host this year’s AZ State Championships to be held November 5-6, 2016 at WestWorld of Scottsdale.

Dressage was born out of a sympathetic horse training method developed by the Greek General Xenophon (427-355 BC) who didn’t believe in the brute force training methods of his day.  Since the 1800’s, Dressage has been an Olympic sport likened to equine ballet, an exquisite partnership of horse and rider achieved with nearly invisible riding aids.

This November, top scoring Dressage horses and riders from Arizona will compete for the title “State Champion.” Each competitor has earned the right to participate in this elite competition by achieving minimum show scores for each level and each Division.  Spectators will have many opportunities to observe top riders and their beautiful equine partners at each level of competition.
